I built my plywood cart out of 3/4″ plywood and screws but didn’t use any wood glue. I’ll eventually pull this cart apart and it will become more scrap wood. I still need to completely reconfigure my shop but won’t do that until the studio is complete so this cart is a temporary solution.

I could never find the piece I wanted and removing a board from the back of the stack was sure to cause trouble.Re: Vertical Lumber Storage « Reply #5 on: May 16, 2013, 12:36 PM » Here’s mine- just 2×6 on edge, with 2×6 on the bottom (to keep the end grain off the concrete floor), and 2×4 braces in front.The design this lumber rack is derived from used removable dowels to “lock” the vertical support in place. For that reason, the bottom cleat is more of a place holder than anything else. I didn’t incorporate the dowels, and would recommend making the bottom cleat angled, which essentially eliminates the need for the dowels in the original
